Beyond The Stars (Right Past Dawn)

I woke up in a world I didn’t know
Everything seemed fast, everything went slow
So I closed my eyes and sat there
Trying to discern through the doubt
What’s it all about?

The world kept on spinning and spinning
And the sun was no longer shining
Nothing seemed like what it was to be
Like I was on some marry-go-round
But I was only earthbound

So I went down to the marketplace
I tried to find her sweet, pretty face
And I wanted to buy back my soul
However I wasn’t so lucky
I was on a shattered sea

I looked through the looking glass
And all I saw was a shattered past
Then I turned, walked the other way
There’d be no more throwing stones
Discard that broken throne

Taking flight on eagle’s wings up high
Far beyond the land above the great Skye
I’ll find what I’ll need someday soon
Until then I’ll keep travelling on
Beyond the stars, right past dawn
