If you want a little advice
Well then, let’s just make it clear
Forget all that’s been said and told
Just hold onto what’s most dear

So let me tell you something
You’re not really tied by the constraints of time
What you have to do is bend it to your will
And proudly declare “This is mine!”

Challenge anyone who dares
To try to dominate themselves over you
‘Cause you are your own authority
No one can tell you what you’re to do

There are some people out there
Living off the scraps of the past
And they’re barely surviving
Because the times are going too fast

There’s little else I got to say
But try your best to do what’s right
Don’t worry about what others may tell
Just try to make it through the night
